Align your sample manually

Aligning Sample

  1. If you need cryo stream for your samples, make sure it is in place and aligned.
  2. Make sure that the pin length is correctly adjusted as at this moment we don't have an automated z-translation.
  3. Please ask your local contact to help with the alignment of your pin and cryostream.

Centering the Crystal

  1. The goniometer head translation axis should be at right angles to the microscope. If this is not the case move the phi axis till you have
     this condition.
  2. Bring the sample to the crosshair, turn by 180 degrees with the JOG button (press twice).
  3. Adjust the sample to the crosshair with the proper gonio key.
  4. Move the sample back pressing the jog button twice in the reversed direction.
  5. Check if the sample is in the center.
  6. Move the sample by 90 degrees pressing the jog button once.
  7. Check that the sample is on the crosshair.
  8. Move the sample by 180 degrees, pressing the jog button twice. Adjust sample to crosshair.
  9. Move sample back by pressing Jog button twice in the reversed direction.

NOTE: The above process needs to be repeated a couple of times till the sample is correctly positoned in the beam.
