Loading the pucks

The X6A tool set. The set can be borrowed a week prior to a scheduled beam time.

The use of the automounter tool set is shown step by step in the following pictures in absence of liquid nitrogen for clarity sake. If this is the first time you are preparing samples for automated screening with the automounter we strongly suggest that you spend some time getting acquainted with the tools.

1 - Remove the puck from the shelf.

2- Move the puck to a recipient with liquid nitrogen

3- Remove the lid

4- Remove the lid

5- Turn the lid around to receive the samples as they are "fished" out of the drops

6- Cooling down the base

7- Closing the puck with the base

8- Place the puck back into the shelf; the whole shelf assembly will be of course inside the cold dry shipper
